Oceanside Was the Dream

The Ocons knew they were ready to lay roots in San Diego after moving around with the military. The home search journey began for Sara, Micah and their daughter Avalon, in the height of soaring home prices, with new listings lasting just a few days on the market. Working with a tight timeline before Micah was scheduled to be away for military training- it was a race against the clock! Either buy now, or potentially months down the road!

After getting pre-approved, they quickly jumped into the home search process. With little inventory on the market, the limited options seemed discouraging. They decided to widen their search, even though Oceanside was the dream. 

After touring a house they loved, a kind neighbor came out and gave them the 411 on some issues the neighborhood was having with pipes and saved them from an inspection nightmare. She also shared about another home nearby that may be a good option. It was bigger than they needed, and at the top of their price range, but they made a 180 and went to check it out. WOW - they were thrilled they did! This was everything they were looking for and more! A 3 bedroom in Oceanside with room to grow AND opportunity for rental income. Because the kind neighbor put in a good word with the selling agent, the deal was negotiated over the phone and deal was sealed without going into counter offers, quite the feat in that market! (Thank you Norma, the neighbor!)

What they thought would be a long hard home search, turned out to be an easy 1.5 week search before going into escrow! They closed and got keys with enough time to get moved in as a family before Micah was off to training, and now Sara and Avalon have their new home to settle into.
